    1978 NYB, 392 MILES,For the sceptics.

What issues would be taken with the rust? Considering the complete lack of aftermarket support for our vehicles, I'm pretty sure he could make a convincing case for it being OEM rust.:D

NOS..... it's no longer new because it's old. Test the cap. Rubber seals get old and leak. Even if it tests good replace it with a new one. Keep that old junk for points at the car shows.

Make sure the heated air cleaner system is functional too. These cars are extremely sensitive to air temp at the carb.

Emissions and fuel economy constraints. Find some old adjustable linkage and install it. Amazing what a difference it makes!!!! I did this on some M and R bodies back in the early eighties. Delaying the upshifts about 5 miles an hour really made them pleasant to drive without having to mat the...

Don't feel too bad about your cost for both cores..I spent $400. just to have my heater core rebuilt 2 years ago. A handy tip if you're wanting to save some money fooling around with old and unknown A/C systems: Leak test with compressed air (approx 120 psi). A lot cheaper than Freon.

Looks like something to test gauges based upon the "Full" "1/2" "1/4" markings over the bottom row of buttons. Follow the wires and post some more pics. Might be a diagnostic tool some tech left behind years ago.

    73 chrysler newyorker spark plugs

Try an open or box end wrench from underneath. My plug sockets have a hex at the end that the ratchet attaches to. I slide socket on the plug and use wrench to break it loose from underneath car. Pain in the ***, but easier than coming up with a combo of extensions and 52 u-joints to get at it.
