    Pics of 69-73 C bodies

Over 50 degrees in Upstate New York today and the snow is mostly melted. The roads were dry and largely salt free so the Fury woke up from hibernation long enough for a quick drink of ethanol free 91 octane.

    Ran out of gas ugh!

Could be a clogged up fuel filter or partially blocked fuel line causing fuel starvation. I had a Chevy years ago that would run fine in town but would suffer fuel starvation at highway speeds. I replaced the fuel filter and that cured it. Good luck.

    1971 Plymouth Fury I 2dr info

Wow! That is a great looking car! Congratulations on inheriting such a cool machine. Built in the Newark, Delaware Plant too, as was my 71 Fury. Does it run as good as it looks?

Almost like looking at still photos from the Blues Bros movie with all the Mopar destruction in the preceding sequence of pics :wideyed:

    Struck Gold

This did detach from the rear seat in one piece but was pretty grungy as expected. I carefully brushed off the grime, pressed it for days under a stack of Mopar Parts catalogs then ironed it with a clothes iron on warm. Mostly quite legible. @ayilar @69CoronetRT @70 Sport Suburban @1970FuryConv

    Struck Gold

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to find 083 which appears on line 4. 8 1/4 ring gear perhaps? It is a "tin back" but I don't know if it's 8 3/4.

    Struck Gold

So today my 71 Fury odometer turned over to 88,000. While I can't be sure, I believe it to be correct based on the wear of items like the steering wheel, brake pedal etc. This afternoon I decided to remove the rear seat to look for the broadcast sheet. It was attached to the seat frame with hog...

Things go from bad to worse (and just when they were looking up)

Good luck tracing the cause of the smoke. At least it didn't have flames! Stick with it and you'll prevail!

    Noisy starter (sometimes)

Good luck finding all that you need for the 71 SFGT. It's a big project and it will be awesome when done.

I had a 72 MGBGT as a daily driver while in college on the other side of the pond. My first car was a Fiat 126 2cyl (really) which would probably fit in the trunk of "Tux"!! That's one imposing car. Looks immaculate too.

    Noisy starter (sometimes)

I'm not 100% positive that I've fixed the problem as it was intermittent but time will tell. It crossed my mind that the additional current needed to provide ignition sparks at running rpm robbed current from the starter as the engine fired but I'm no auto electrician. It could also be an...

    Noisy starter (sometimes)

I've used WD40 especially on my 1976 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle for decades but it does end up greasy and dirty after a while! I've seen people here recommend DeOxit and thought I'd give it a try. It might be good for my guitar amps and equipment too! Eventually I'll get to the clock in my 71...

    Noisy starter (sometimes)

Update on the starter @Big_John @1970FuryConv I now have the static timing set about 3 degrees retarded. I bought a cheap strobe from Amazon that seems to work fine. By itself the timing adjustment cured a pinging issue under light throttle (separate thread here) but didn't eliminate the starter...

Parts that you can make work

I bought the Everco one from Hilltop Auto 2 years ago and it works fine.
