Coolant coming from fuel pump area, 383

Okay. Final follow up. I clearly don't know some of the internals of the engine well enough so sorry about the adventure figuring out where the leak was coming from. Turns out it was the water pump housing gasket. Pulled the ac, alternator and power steering pump. Got the gaskets swapped and...

Coolant coming from fuel pump area, 383

Water pump is new, just painted. Talked to the guy that rebuilt the engine. He thinks it might be the exhaust manifold bolt. Either way, I'm going to take the alternator off and check the plug at the end of the head and the exhaust bolt. Appreciate the insight. I'll follow up with an update and...

Coolant coming from fuel pump area, 383

So additional fyi it happened the other day. I got it home just in time but leaked a lot of coolant. I just topped it off without starting the car and it appears to be just flowing from there. I don't see any other place it's coming from. It's dry above and I haven't started the car to get fresh...

Coolant coming from fuel pump area, 383

Have a 68 Chrysler Newport. Recently rebuilt 383 bored to a 390. Fitech fuel injection. Heard a pop the other day and am spilling coolant like crazy. It's coming from fuel pump area in the block. Just behind and below the alternator area. Please tell me easily fixable? Went and rented a coolant...

    Need new a.c. and heater

I have a factory air 68 Newport. I bought it disconnected but still has the compressor in place. My heater core recently rusted out and is now also bypassed. So no heat or air. Is there any type of combo unit or do I just need to replace them individually?

    Help with electric radiator fan

I had success. Thought I had everything in the package. I didn't. I ended up running a switch into the cabin until I decide to hook it up to the thermostat. Thanks for the help.

    Help with electric radiator fan

I watched the video. It makes sense. It just doesn't account for the terminal added on the black line. Just want to make sure I'm connecting that properly. Ive already got a ground I believe so do I have 2 grounds or am I adding the wrong ground anywhere else?

    Help with electric radiator fan

Ok. Think I'm getting close but not quite. I have two wires that come out of the pigtail. According to that diagram link I plug one into a ground which I did. The relay has black, blue, red, white. I'm plugging the blue into the fan power, and the red with a fuse to the battery. I'm assuming...

    Help with electric radiator fan

I bought a electric radiator fan for my 68 Newport. The fan has a plastic pigtail coming out but I don't see where in the kit it plugs into. I contacted the seller and they don't know. I'm looking at all the other kits on eBay and they look exactly the same, the have a plastic pigtail that looks...

I have a 68 ac convertible and mine just went out this week too. The ac isn't actively hooked up but still have the compressor on the engine. Started puking inside, now have no heat or ac. Lol.

Overheating at idle on really hot days

It is tough chasing gremlins. But hard to just replace the whole thing cost wise for a very occasional problem that hasn't become a full blown issue yet. I only drive it once a week so I have some more testing I need to do.

Overheating at idle on really hot days

I've only owned the car about a year. Have done a lot of maintenance and upgrades to get it "running right". Nothing changed per se but I added fuel injection, new water pump and some other necessities. I had some light smoke coming out of my heater vent when I was idling at that temp and...

Overheating at idle on really hot days

likely original radiator. I'm not at home but I think it's a 5 blade, fixed. Not sure on the thermostat, I haven't changed it since owning it. Does have a new water pump as well.
