    Are there any other options?

Hi Dylan, did you ever hear back from these guys?

    Are there any other options?

Let me know what they say, please. I'm going to eventually have the front power drums converted to discs when I hit that particular system. It'll be interesting to know what kind of mods, if any, need to be made to use their 9 inch power brake boosters on our C Bodies.

    Are there any other options?

Tuff Stuff has a pretty good variety of power brake boosters. Here’s a link: Power Brake Booster 9" #2229NB - TUFF STUFF Performance Accessories You can call them regarding fitment.

    Wheel Stud Question

This is what I plan on doing, too. The bonehead who owned the car before me neglected to tell me about the sheared left rear wheel stud (see image). I accept some blame, since really I should have pulled all of the wheel covers to check. However, he had to change the wheels on the car, from...

    15x8 tire size

Thanks Jim. I decided on 17s, whenever we get to that part. As you said, you pretty quickly get to a point of diminishing returns increasing wheel size and decreasing sidewall height. The suspensions on today’s cars are designed with those larger sizes in mind. Our old C Bodies weren’t...

    15x8 tire size

Right, I meant with a 17 inch wheel (I should have said that in the first place... Haha!). I've read a couple posts re: 18x8, with 4.5 inch backspacing and zero offset working fine also, but I'm not sure I'd want to do that. Still thinking about it...

    15x8 tire size

So I’m guessing that the same wheel size/backspacing/offset would apply regardless of the wheel then?

    15x8 tire size

Beautiful ride, Jim. I wonder whether 17x7, with 4 inches backspacing and 0 offset, would work and play nicely on my car. The only thing I fret over, with that setup, would be clearing the rear wheel well inserts. I'm thinking it would. In case I missed it, what size tires are you running...

    15x8 tire size

I’m interested in putting 17 inch wheels on my 68 New Yorker. Sounds like the size and backspacing you’re using work well for you. Zero offset, I take it?

    Brake booster

I’m planning on upgrading to discs.

    Brake booster

    I’ll do that, thanks!

    Brake booster

Would Booster Dewey sell me a rebuilt power disc brake booster in exchange for my power drum brake booster, or is that strictly a matter of he rebuilds and ships back only what you send him?

Front End Rebuild for The Red Menace

I don’t mind dirt. A good floor jack and three ton jack stands are at the ready. Block of wood I can get. I’ve got a set of 1/2 inch sockets (I’d have to buy some impact sockets) too, as well as a decent set of box end wrenches. The ball joint and drag link separator I’d have to borrow from...

Front End Rebuild for The Red Menace

Thanks Craig. Your reputation precedes you, so I know you’d do me right when the time comes. I need to go through the original owner’s maintenance log to see when any of those parts were last replaced. Judging by the look of the bushings, it’s been quite a while. And I don’t think the second...

Front End Rebuild for The Red Menace

Hi folks! While chasing down wiring issues I’m planning the front end rebuild on our ‘68 New Yorker. I’m putting together a list of parts at this point. Does any supplier offer a complete kit? I know PST offers a kit, but there are parts that have to be sourced afterward. Who offers the...
