    Heater Boxes are NOT FUN

I love father and son projects. Although, it almost hurts when someone my age is referred to as "old man". It doesn't hurt much, but just a little. : )

    Evil Bay Rant

If you decide to return anything ebay purchased for any reason, 30 days is the magic window. Ebay will screw the seller before the customer if it's in the 30 day window. Sorry to hear about it.

    You be the judge.

I've seen the impeller slip on the shaft in the pump itself "brand new unit" I agree with MoPar Man, pull the upper hose off the rad with no t-stat and start the car. It won't take long to see whats happening.

Coolant Testing with a Multimeter (is this real? I did not know this)

The dreaded Dexcool was originally designed to combat this. ( so I've been told ) The problem is "virtually no one" services their cars the way they should. I learned when I was a teen, to always flush your coolant after a system failure. Water pump, t-stat and so on.... Super heating anti...

    Fan roar

Not aware of one. The fan provides little to nothing above 30 mph anyway. My guess is bad clutch. It should free wheel at that speed.

    The infamous RV2

Well, I pulled a vacuum on the system. It held, I dropped my gauges so the number didn't read 28 inches but it held steady at 25. I put two cans of r134 in it. It was dead empty, I pushed both high and low side valves to see if there was anything left in the system. The clutch engaged as it...

    The infamous RV2

I've read various threads on this and other sites about this compressor. I want to try and rebuild mine, I have acquired books and torque specs, I have located (although yet to purchase) each possible piece. My question is does any one know of a kit number that contains all needed to rebuild...

Opinions on converting from R12 to R134?

Well, after keeping up with this thread. I decided to see if I could get my system working. The previous owner charged it with 134 before I bought it. My father test drove the car a month before I got to pick it up two years ago he said it worked then, and I haven't bothered to try it. So...

    Heater core

If you don't have a Mopar parts book, get one. Find the factory PN, and shop from there. That's how you find most of your parts for these cars.

    Radiator Overheat.

When filling it, did you have the engine running and the heat on? Could be just an air pocket pushed its way out. When i say that i mean. If it cavitates at the water pump or t-stat. It'll sit there until the pressure in the system is high enough to force it out. I changed the water pump in a...

    Aluminum Radiator Nightmare!

I think what he's saying is, the gap between the tank and radiator support looks the same from left to right.

How to install temp gauge while still keeping dummy light?

It's worked fine this long. Brass would be less bulky, like Cbody67 stated. There again, it looks like you'd really have to search to even notice it.

    Aluminum Radiator Nightmare!

Please understand, I'm with you on this....however this is a cautionary tale to all. Some of us have learned the same lesson here already. Pull whatever you just ordered out of the box and test fit before anything else is done. Especially in a custom application. That said, it's no real skin off...

1969 Rad/Heater Hose Clamps and Nipple Fittings

You might just replace the rusty nipples the hoses are being clamped to, there seems to be more pitting there than should be. I would wager, if you changed those your problem would be gone.

Alu radiator and elec fan upgade help please

Consider this, there are NO new or newer cars that run their fans constantly. All of them turn on and off when needed. Running the fan constantly wears the fan out, and taxes the charging system big time. I have an electric fan assembly from Be Cool on my El Camino, it came with everything...
