    Odd distributor cap wear

I would start out by calling MSD and telling them which of their products you have, the brand, and the type of cap and see what they have to say. To my knowledge, the brass contacts are the best for the standard points, rotor, and cap. But you have perhaps a hotter hybrid system.

    GT headlight doors

Try to tap moderately on the headlight motor when the switch is on. As the motor is verticle, the armature has slight corrosion near the motor endcap.

    1959 Imperial

Believe it or not, there are a lot of homes in my city and in the area made of stone. My home was built in the 1930s, totally remodeled in the 1950s, and redone in my time since I owned it in 1988. The walk-in attic is now a master bedroom/bathroom suite. It is now a four-bedroom, two-bathroom...

    1959 Imperial

The steering column one cancels automatically as the steering column turns. The manual one is the small chrome push button that overrides the automatic switch.

    1959 Imperial

My '59 Imp has the turn signal cancel switch attached to the steering column above the brake pedal. Are we on the same page describing the part? I'm not sure of the outcome if you eliminate it. Perhaps you would have to manually cancel the turn signal by hitting the button on the switch (right...

    Questionable Blue Streak Distributor Cap(?)

The "BEST" ones have brass contacts, just like the points (if you have them). The cap shown looks fine. If the blue color bothers you then paint it on the outside.

USA Made??? Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

I purchased one for my '70 Fury III Summer of 2019 from www.VansAuto.com However I would call them to double check.

    62 Newport Tail lights/brake lights

You must use a meter or a test light at the least to determine if the juice is getting back there and move forward. It may be as simple as a bad ground.

    62 Newport headlights

Try the high beam floor switch. Spray some electrical contact cleaner or just replace it as they are $5 or less. When you depress the switch does it feel "right" or "crunchy" as they get dirt and debris inside.

    Fuel sender unit

About six weeks ago I had the same problem with my 1970 Plymouth Fury gas gauge. Same issues and diagnoses. I purchased a sending unit from vansauto.com It works fine and I'm happy with the product. It came with a gasket and retainer ring.

No start issue on my 1979 Magnum

Thanks for your thoughts. The car is super clean so I suspect no corrosion by the ballast resistor but will double check. In my experience when the ballast resistor goes bad it will run in the crank position but when key is released to run position it stops running. As far as power lines the car...

No start issue on my 1979 Magnum

I know its should be on B Body forum but I suspect most of them don't have lean burn system. Yesterday I had taken my '79 Magnum GT out to get to my '62 Chrysler 300. It started normal and I parked it outside. A couple of hours later I tried to start it and it cranked normally but did not seem...

Headlight dimmer switch for Sentinel system.

No, not on '59. It will dim or not dim the headlights when "on". It does not turn on the headlights. The adjustable part determines how close the oncoming lights affect the dim or not to dim the lights.

Headlight dimmer switch for Sentinel system.

I would not spray anything into a electrical switch other than "Electrical Contact Cleaner" Years ago a friend of mine sprayed WD40 into a power seat switch. Several hours later he discovered an electrical fire had occurred inside the car and all was black from the smoke. You can get a switch...

Headlight dimmer switch for Sentinel system.

Can you over ride it with a high beam foot switch? if so depress that. If it feels weird or sounds crunchy, replace it. Maybe you can depress it to see if they will switch. I had this problem on my '59 Imperial with the Twilight Sentinal and it was the floor switch.

Can’t get an alternator to put out a charge

First I would take the car and have it tested on the VAT. With a load I found my rebuilt Auto Zone alternator was putting out a third of its output. The second one was a little better but still half of under load output. It took a third one to get it right.

    Power window problem

Start simple: spray electrical contact cleaner into the problem door switch. If does not work pull the door panel off enough to get to the window motor and wrap a couple times on it with a hammer. If I don't use one of my car back window motor is will not go down. Once in the first part of the...

    Leece Neville alternator

You could try any place that makes them. In Fond du Lac WI. there is Fondy electric. You could call them as they used to do this type of custom work. http://www.fondyautoelectric.com/
