Touch the condensation on the inside of your windows and smell your fingers and feel if slippery like oil feel. If so it's anti-freeze. Also, the inside of your car would smell like warm anti-freeze if the heater ran awhile.

You should be able to use double faced foam insulation in the proper thicknes/density then trim to match contours. I had to improvise on a front bumper seal on my '62 300 and the firewall to hood on my '78 New Yorker St Regis Coupe.

Try running it on its highest speed for a couple of minutes, then turn it on low speed. If its a leaf it might break off, if it continues run awhile longer or remove fan motor. If its the bearings it will sound like mables rolling fast. If its a leaf type object it sounds like a card in you...
