    Blues Brothers C-Bodies

"Blues Brothers" movie, 60 cruisers for $400 each.... “The production crew bought those 60 cruisers for $400 each, according to reports at the time. They also used 13 different Bluesmobiles purchased from the California Highway Patrol. Most of them were destroyed by the end of filming, even...

    Tool C-4113

Oh no, never use heat on the column, that could cause more damage. Have you tried asking over at the B body site? They might have the tool in question.

    Tool C-4113

Solid or not, it is still easily punched out with a drift, the tool just adds the support so as to not damage the shaft. You have to pull the shaft anyway to gain access to the lock plate to remove it. Once the shaft is out you will have full access to the lock cylinder, no? I had to remove...

It’s nothing more than a drift pin. Tap it out with a block of wood for support.

Last August I looked into getting the Spectra CU332 for my '70. Rock Auto had them for $181. I hesitated, and then went to order in October and the price had jumped to $281. A week later they were gone, off the website. I noticed on the Spectra site it has the Maple Leaf - For Canadian...

The infamous 4-spd 76 New Yorker. Ask me anything.

What would you do different if you had to do it all over again?

Ok, that was my next question, do you think it is still a $6K car then? I can't see spending $11K, but with the new hood and some interior work, also depending on how strong the motor is, I could see it as a decent DD for $5K-$6k. Oh, and of course the AC has to work.

That's too bad. Like I've been telling my wife with my 'vert, it's the journey not the payout. But then again it will also be my heir's problem.

Did you at least re-coup your original $3k investment?

How long did you own it after the conversion? How did it drive, were you satisfied with the result?

Why did the dash have to come apart? I love the pic of the jig set-up for the pedals. Why wouldn't anything from '69-'73 work?

I’ll be using the one that came with the TX9 parts car. Fake wood grain, plastic, probably from the late ‘80’s, and it fits perfect.

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

What we know so far is that there was no production past June 1978 correct? Anyone find out the date of that photo?

Someone once said that the root of all misery was the desire to own more possessions. I don’t know if I could give them up yet, but once the vert is done, driving it in New Jersey will certainly bring on the misery.

I’ve seen tags where there is a smaller inspection plate screwed to one corner. I have one on my vert. I also remember something about how the tag was often attached to one corner before paint, then bent down leaving a triangle area that was unpainted.

I just need to get a handle on the sequence of events here. All of this has been covered in other threads, but it is worth restating. The way I've understood all of this is that a VIN is assigned first. Then the SPD (scheduled production date?) is set. Then the actual Month, Day and Hour...
