From what I've been told, no! Thou shall not do so!

    Radiator recommendations

I'll chime in on the aluminum vs. brass/copper. When we built the 401 for the Gremlin, we replaced the 6 cylinder factory radiator for a Griffin. It worked, but I never liked the idea that it didn't have a petcock. Then it started to hold heat in a big way. I swapped ot for a factory V8...

    Radiator recommendations

If it's rebuildable, I'd have that done. If not, you can buy a new one from Rockauto: 1968 CHRYSLER 300 7.2L 440cid V8 Radiator | RockAuto

66 Town & Country no heat

Could be the dash control is no good. Everything may be working but it may not be turning on. I currently have that problem in my Newport. Neither the AC or heater will work.

Installing factory A/C on a manual trans car

There is no issue with a manual trans and AC; I've had it in two of my cars, and there's many a Corvette with a 4-speed and AC.

    Radiator repair advice?

I think it was called Oildale Radiator. Two brothers worked together on North Chester. Did excellent work, and two humble guys. I just did a search and don't see the shop anymore. A shame.

    Radiator repair advice?

Had the radiator on the '62 New Yorker and the '70 Newport rebuilt and a third row added. They used the original end caps so both looked factory when I picked them up. But, I will say, those brothers in Bakersfield did excellent work! It will depend on how good your shop is. '62 rebuilt and...

    Heater Core replacement

Does it tell you to take out the glove box? If so, there you go.

    Heater core question

C Body vs. B Body, but I put a new core into my Buddy's '68 GTX Hemi. Took me about two hours. Box was only held in by three nuts, very similar to the '70 Challenger I had. The hard part will be finding a core!

    Question about trans coolers??

The trans cooler inside a radiator is not very large, and is still the temperature of the coolant. An external one will truly "cool" your transmission. I used one on my '93 B250 Van when I pulled my trailer. I bought the type that mounts to the front of the radiator. Worked well and did the...

    Aftermarket a/c

I saw the same question today on Facebook; was/is that you? My (late) Uncle used Vintage Air on his '65 Mustang. He really liked it, especially in the humidity of North Carolina where he lived. Home - Vintage Air

    A/C in a convertible?

I have AC in my '70 Newport, and I use it. It gets quite hot here in the summer months. I use it even with the top down. Why? Sitting at a light that cold air feels great! Moving, it doesn't really matter.

Overheating at idle on really hot days

That's interesting; never thought if that possibility. Then again, I have removed the heat riser from my car, as well as those I had before it.

Overheating at idle on really hot days

How do you know it started to overheat? Do you have a temperature gauge or an idiot light? Cars getting warm in traffic is not uncommon, or a really large problem. However, if your radiator was belching coolant, that would be another matter. I will say I had this problem, idiot light coming...

Coolant Escape from Overflow after shutdown - Any ideas?Monaco Wagon 383

You're welcome. I put one of those on the '62 I had, as well as my Son's Gremlin. I bought them at the annual Western Street Rod Nationals in Bakersfield, CA. You can probably find one in a street rod magazine.

Extra cooling by using the "wrong" radiator should not be a problem.

    Replacing waterpump...tips & tricks ?

I said to a friend of mine once, and it can be true here: "If you still had nothing but the idiot lights instead of an actual gauge, the temperature wouldn't bother you at all."
