    Shocks

I have used KYBs on everything so far and can’t complain. I would like to use Bilsteins in the future, just to see what they’re like.

    1971 newport tire size

You need to let the axle down to get the tires on and off.

    1971 newport tire size

P235/75R15 fits in a fuselage Imperial and they are the same basic body. You should have no trouble at all getting those tires to fit.

    Imperial Rotors

This should prove that it works. Buick wheels on a 72.

    Imperial Rotors

The Imperial is different than the other C-bodies. They share almost nothing with the other cars of the same years. 72 and 73 are the same. I have done the front brakes on both of mine and there are no differences between them.

    Imperial Rotors

That makes no sense. Why would Chrysler waste time and money on making the 72 and 73 different? If you check it out the both use Timken SET5 and SET3 bearings.

    So the Book Lied

These are the original factory installed shock absorbers.

    So the Book Lied

I went to finish up the shock absorbers on my 73 Imperial and I started on the rear. They were straightforward. The fronts are almost a nightmare and the procedure in the Factory Service Manual can’t be farther from accurate. They tell you to remove the upper control arm bumper, and the shield...

Electric Brake Booster and Blue Tooth.

Disc brakes are not unnecessary on a classic car, but they are appreciated. My first hand experience with EBB brakes is that they are great until they are not. You also offered no explanation of how the part you installed works, but you answered your own question.

Electric Brake Booster and Blue Tooth.

Electric brake booster? That is current model Ford technology. Not sure how yours works but on a modern Ford you have a brake pedal simulator with a force sensor, and an angle sensor. There is an ABS module and HCU that do all the braking. The simulator is connected to a pushrod and a small...

    Imperial Rotors

I appreciate your research on this. I knew there had to be a catch to this. It was too good to be true. If my rotors don’t clean up with a cut then I will worry about this.

    Imperial Rotors

    72 Imperial is two piece.

    Imperial Rotors

If I’m not mistaken the rotors are swaged onto the hub with the wheel studs. The hub is to be reused like with a-body Kelsey Hayes brakes.

Can Old Brake Shoes outlive their effectiveness-even though there's plenty of "meat" on them?

If you can prevent something bad, why not take action to make sure you don’t have to live a life of consequences later. 30 seconds of thought can prevent 30 years of suffering.

Can Old Brake Shoes outlive their effectiveness-even though there's plenty of "meat" on them?

Risk is still risk. Mesothelioma is a slow and painful death that I have witnessed and I would rather not partake. I always spray down brakes with soapy water or brake parts cleaner depending on what I’m up to. I don’t trust modern brake linings either.

Can Old Brake Shoes outlive their effectiveness-even though there's plenty of "meat" on them?

That’s because if you don’t dick with asbestos it’s not an issue. As soon as you start scraping it against a rotor or drum then it releases the particles, that is the issue.

Can Old Brake Shoes outlive their effectiveness-even though there's plenty of "meat" on them?

This is always good, if ever there is an issue with rotors or drums but the linings are still good this is the compliment to machined or new friction surfaces. I recommend it and I would do it myself. Asbestos brakes have amazing stopping power but I don’t want to risk lung cancer every time I...

    1969-73 Rear Brake Hose Bracket

I thought I would pass along the information here that I found out. The 1968-70 B-Body rear brake hose bracket is the same as the 1969-73 C-Body rear brake hose bracket.
