What 1973 rotors should I buy??

I bought mine at Autozone 4 years ago. They have them in stock. I couldn't be happier with them. I had epic problems with my conversion and multiple times smoked the rotors and they never warped.

    Goldie is getting new shoes

It fits nearly perfectly down into the center. I guess in theory they could spin if the 2 bolts holding them in place loosened up, but I put thread lock on the bolts so I believe they will stay snug. Every mopar I have seen these wheels on have had the bullseye center hub and I couldn't find...

    Goldie is getting new shoes

After finally sorting out my brake issue, I have decided to install new wheels and tires. Based on other threads posted here I have bought American Racing V501 17 X 7 and installing 235 60 R17 tires. I was able to install my old bullseye center cap after I clipped the legs off the old...

After 4 years I think I finally found my problem.

To me it sounds like you need to replace or rebuild the whole caliper. Mine would still stop on a dime with no effort, the pin problem was not release the caliper completely.

After 4 years I think I finally found my problem.

Well Goldie's brakes passed in flying colors, on the trip to Nats today, 120+ miles. I still had some wheel vibration on my 10 year old Coopers, so new tires are on the list. I am going to change the wheels to the 17" alloy American Racing V501 "magnum 500" style. Now I will have many tires to...

After 4 years I think I finally found my problem.

I did add the brake lube, another reason why I figure it has to be better than before. Both were bone dry and had some surface rust too.

Thanks great information I was wondering if they may be the same on another mopar.

After 4 years I think I finally found my problem.

I actually tapped it a few times with a hammer and got it darn close. I filed the burrs and then took some sandpaper to it. I am driving it to the Mopar National this weekend, about 50 miles. I believe it is still in better shape than the last 4 years I drove there

After 4 years I think I finally found my problem.

I honestly think the those pads may drag slightly and over a period of time, because of the bad pin and eventually heats up the rotor. The bent and burred pin isn't allowing a smooth release either. Sometimes I could tap the brakes a couple of times when I can feel that caliper grabbing, and it...

I did see the rebuild kits out there. That was kind up my next question, is it pretty straightforward, any special tools needed?

After 4 years I think I finally found my problem.

I called my buddy he had 4 pins, but said mine was in better shape than any of his. Fortunately I found a couple new at NAPA, still looking for a caliper, but don't really think I need it now.

After 4 years I think I finally found my problem.

I did the 73 disc brake conversion on Goldie, my '66 300. Everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong. Even with a reoccurring irritating issue, I never regretted the conversion because it can stop on a dime now. The very irritating problem is the front right caliper would grab after you...

Dragging calipers on my '73 conversion

I wanted to update this thread, for the last 4 years I was still having some occasional dragging issue, which came to an impass this spring. To cut to the chase the rubber lines coming off the calipers were too short. The inner lining basically gave out and it was dragging almost immediately...

YES, YES, YES!!! Firm Feel Rear Sway Bar

I can't speak for the 71 but I would imagine you might have some issues. I know on my '66, when I eventually replace my single exhaust that it will need to be a custom dual exhaust installed. I am fortunate to have an excellent shop. I would think im the worst case you might have to have a...

Does anyone know where to get this sway bar bush?

I think you can only find NOS bushings. I gave up the search several years ago, I installed a whole new set up going up to a 1" bar. I installed it on my 66 300 from PST and am very happy. 1" Front Sway Bar I installed the rear sway bar from them too. The single best improvement I made to...
