Resurrection of my 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible

Keep it up and thanks for the updates. It is indeed a lonely quest but you are going to get there so long as you keep doing some work. Sounds dumb because I know sometimes it seems like the end is nowhere to be found. Keep going and one day it will be finished.

1970 300 vert speedometer not working

I am in the process of getting my 300 ready to sell and the speedometer quit working. When I last worked on it a couple of years ago I purchased a new cable because the original cable was making noise and made the speed jumpy. I did a fair amount of research but still ended up with a cable that...

When is a car no longer "original"?

There is an AMC dealer about an hour from me. It has been closed down for decades. The cars are wasting away and the Dad, and son, have acres surrounding the dilapidated dealership building that have mopars and AMC cars just sitting in the grass. These dudes were actually on American Pickers and...

Just picked up a 1972 Plymouth Fury Gran Coupe

Afew plastic tanks snuggled in the trunk would be as safe as what you removed IMO. Just make sure you ground them all :)

Damn thing purrs like a kitten. Runs WAY smoother than my 300. I gotta get someone to look at mine. Nice job.

When is a car no longer "original"?

And this is why I will never put a car in another OE, original, concourse, survivor etc etc blah blah blah car show. If these shows are some people's thing I'm happy for you. Knock yourselves out. I think those attracted to judging these types of shows are the same types that want to be on the...

When is a car no longer "original"?

If ANY old Mopar has a single chinese part AND is being shown in ANY category it should be disqualified IMO. Then the owner, the owner's family, the owners friends etc etc all the way down the line should be shown the exit door. Just MOHO. Carlisle isn't a real car show anyway. Again IMOHO. The...

When is a car no longer "original"?

I should clarify that I used my personal car only for illustration in trying to form my question. Like most, if not all of us here, I'll do what I want with my care without regard for what others think and the bumpers were just a handy to use for an example. I can go with that. Oh, and thanks...

Sunday morning autumn shots 69 sport fury convertible

Agreed - that looks like a candy apple red I used to use on model cars about 50 years ago. I think every model car I built had that color somewhere on it. Super straight body allows that shine to take center stage.

When is a car no longer "original"?

I'm sure this has been argued many times but I tried finding more information about general opinions and failed to. When is a car no longer original? Many folks have bits and pieces restored on their vehicles and I imagine it can get to a point where their "original survivor" is really a...

    Odd smell

How about one with the top down :). When are we going to get smellavision? That's a smell I'd welcome and the wife won't mind riding in the beck seat. OK that's a lie. Anyway I think the OP might have said there is an odd "stink" instead of a smell??? Some smells are good but a stink is never...

    Here we go again...

Here in my SE NC county we don't need inspections for car registered as a classic fwiw. Also very lax locally on emissions just as I like it. I'd still love to know if the car was rotten when driven last or did it get that way sitting?

    Here we go again...

At the prompting of this thread I had to investigate the hip. I looked at one youtube. It was their final song or something like that. The music sounded like something I'd like but Gordy was wearing aluminum pants and I just couldn't make my mind get past this. All I kept thinking about was his...

Schitt's creek is killer. Eugene Levi's son is his actual gay son and his daughter is the waitress at the diner. Everyone should check out "Best In Show" if you haven't already done so.
