    66 Exhaust Tips

That’s exactly what I expected factory duals to look like. Nearly invisible…

    66 Exhaust Tips

@cbarge keyed in on the heart of my question, which is not about "which tips" but about "should the tips/pipes extend beyond the bumper?" I feel like the answer is a firm NO, but the look of the TD2 tips makes me believe they won't fit under the car and MUST protrude beyond the bumper, because...

    66 Exhaust Tips

Does anyone have a photo or dealer/promo picture of the ORIGINAL exhaust tailpipes, showing the "tips" on the 66 Newport/300/New Yorker with TNT440 engine factory dual exhaust that can confirm/deny that the exhaust tips match what TTI sells as option TD2 "TURNDOWNS w/ 5-DEGREE UPSWEEP" as seen...

    Tab style hanger bracket

Thanks for the reply. I saw the photo on the TTI catalog but I couldn't really tell what I was looking at, hence the question. OK, thanks for the photo, that helps a lot. I don't have anything on my shock mount crossover piece because my hanger is mounted to what is the backrest portion of...

    Tab style hanger bracket

Aftermarket muffler close in sound/db as OEM

As a follow up to this thread, I settled on a Walker 18230 muffler, which is basically what came on all big block Mopar's from 68 to 72 (according to the Walker catalog). Here's a video showing the sound. I'm pretty happy with it. It's quiet, has the low burble without any upper frequency...

    Let's see your tips

Yeah, that's too bad. I agree, they look too low. Not sure what to suggest other than asking if a shop can re-bend the tailpipe section to go upwards a bit before it gets to the bumper.

Gonna get dual exhaust on my 66 windsor...

All of the TTI systems I've heard on YouTube sound too "clacky." Is that a function of the Dynomax mufflers? I imagine I want mufflers that dampen all frequencies above 100hz, so there is nothing but a rumble. I really don't want to hear the higher overtones that growl. Maybe I need to find...

Aftermarket muffler close in sound/db as OEM

I'm curious - were our C-Bodies "quiet" when new, as compared to say the more performance oriented cars of the time? I'm thinking specifically about Slab Bodies, but any answer is appreciated. I can't imagine a New Yorker sounding like a GTO or Corvette of the day. Is there an aftermarket...
