You know, now that I think about it, the air cleaner nut started hitting the hood (before I recently cut that area out). That was an unusual thing because normally hadn't happen before, I moved and am now just getting to have the space and time to look at some stuff that I mentally noted.

What's the difference between the 2? Is one merely a splitter (distribution block), and the other plays an active role in regulating the hydraulics (proportioning valve)? I thought every vehicle built after a certain year has a proportioning valve.

I just did this on my 67 Imperial HT. used the 1/32 inch tape from Restoration Specialties. I had to first clean out the channel. It had hardened tape / rubber. I scraped it out with a razor blade and then used acetone to clean the channel. Worked fine. You can find good videos on Utube.
