Greetings all,
I want to put 15"wheels on my 65 300. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this swap and if so what width and offset/back space did you go with? I dont want to go crazy on the width I'm thinking an 8" wide wheel is max probably more like 6" would look better. I have included a pic of the wheel I have in mind as well as a pic of the car.

15 x7s on my 65. Just make sure you double check the back spacing so you don't run into any issues, especially with the skirts.

I am kinda torn . I really like the smoothie wheels you picked out but geeze your car also looks great as it is too!

These are what is on it currently. I did the SSBC front disc conversion on the car and the brake calipers and bypass lines barely fit in the stock wheels. Sorry sent the wrong pic before.

I'm new with a 67 Newport Custom Sedan and looking at rim size and tires. I like the 300 look with the torque thrusts, but what is the tire size? The 65 convertable I meant to refer to....

What is the back spacing on the current wheels? And what tires do you have on now??
I have a 69 Fury not that it will help you but I fit 15 inch wheels with an 8 inch width with 4 1/2 inch back spacing and put on 275 /60 /15's in the rear with no problems. These days I like stock steel wheels with dog dish on my ride but with your car I don't know if it could work....don't think so Stylistically. You can get stock type steel wheels to your basic spec and put the stock wheel covers on too.

I will try to get some pics looking up into the front and rear wheel wells but...I think it might be possible to run a 7" wide rim on a 65 300 and keep the skirts just gotta get the rim spacing and all spot on. There is plenty of space up front so a 15 x 7 would work and likely give a better look.

You can run the 15x8 steelies on the rear, but the tire can't be very bulbous. I had the Ramcharger truck 15x8s on my 66 300 with 265/70r15s and they would rub ever so slightly on some bumps/cornering situations. I decided to swap to 15x7 US Mags with I think 4 1/4" or 4 1/2" bs with the same 265/70r15s. They fit perfect, look great, and do not rub ever. I run the same wheel up front with a 235/75r15. I wanted the tallest rubber I could fit to keep cruise rpm reasonable with my 3.23s. You can find the exact specs on the wheels I used in a post I did in the fall when I put them on. My pics don't work anymore, need to figure out a new pic hosting deal since photobucket went $$$.
Travis..
