Based on the pics, very good looking car. Are the vents on top of the dash an option that came with this model?
As has been written, they were the vents for the AC. You reversed them for defroster. These appeared through 1964, 1965 being the first year for vents in the dash. My '62 had them as well.

Just to put a fun footnote to this fantastic car.
The seller had some parts for sale on this site back in May that would work on my build. I contacted him, found out where he was at and saw that there was a small airport near him.
I asked him if he could meet me there. He said no as he was busy putting flags up for memorial day, but that his son could!
I spoke with his son and he said he could meet me at the airport and we set a time. He said he would be driving a Dodge dually.
As I'm landing, I saw he and his wife standing by the 300. I taxied over and the first thing we both agreed on: That was no Dodge dually and This calls for a photo op!
Here are a couple...

The airplane is a 1946 Ercoupe
Twin Tails!

Loved the car. And the seller, his son and wife are great people!

The last irony, I got so involved with the 300 I almost forgot to pay him. After I started the airplane up, he waved me down. I shut down and he said we forgot something. OH YEAH!!
How embarrassing

After nearly 48 years in our garage, the car will be heading down the road with its new owner in a few days to its new home in NC!

:thankyou::thumbsup:

Does this mean I need a new avatar now!!??
