My wife and I recently met a gent who happened to mention he had a '61 Chrysler convertible in the garage. My ears immediately perked up and I asked if we could see it. "Sure", he said.

He bought it in the '80s from a local wrecking yard in driveable condition but then let it sit for 10+ years before finally deciding to tackle the restoration. It's a beauty now, and sporting a '60 trunk lid.

Great find, thanks for posting her on here..

In '63, Motor Trend did a test of a few "basic" cars. One was a '63 Newport 4-dr sedan with a 3-speed manual trans. It did pretty good for the stock engine without all of the added weight from sound insulation and power stuff on it. I can imagine how that '61 does with the 413 in it.

Thanks for posting!
