Great car for sale. 383 engine with 76k original miles. Very desirable car two doors hard top. Rebuilt transmission. New tires, new interior , head liner included. Run great. Trim all there. Need light body and paint. 30 thousand dollar car when done.

Do not see this car any where $30k any time soon. Wrong interior, weird dash pad, needs paint etc. A value of about $4.5k in its current conditions is probably generous.

I believe the dash pad is just a dash pad cover. I donno but if really rust free as this part of the country seems to have and you dream of having one of these I could see 6000 . Rust free is a real perk in my book . Interior may be not correct ,,that is in the eye of the beholder. Chrome and trim look to be nice. A first hand inspection would solve all this. A 53 year old American car with a big block assuming no rust for an asking price of 8500 could be a real nice car. You couldn't get a 72 Nova rusted with butchered interior equipped with a god knows what happened 350 for that.

I'm not too familiar with these years so must ask, what's "wrong" with the interior? I think it looks really sharp! He should have taken the carpet dash cover off for the pictures. Dash and door panels appear original?

The interior fabric is incorrect for the seats. Most of these '65 Newports had a predominant color on both the seat edges and inserts with the inserts having an embossed fabric with dark color on the embossments to give some contrast. Door panels appear correct. Car probably has a failed black dash pad or the seller would have removed the cover. The black dash pad suggests that the seats might well have also been black although there is no real way to tell without access to the build sheet. Can not tell from the photos if the black carpet is the correct loop pile. I am being picky because the seller is asking $8.5k for a car that still needs about $6k in body and paint work.

First off, I agree that this is a decent rust free car, but it is to me overpriced. There is a decent white '68 custom 440 2Dr with similar mileage for $4k here in Oregon. But I also get the fact that rust free cars are a much hotter item in rust prone areas than they are on the West Coast. '68 Car is on today's post for FCBO. Yeah I know '68 is not a '65 but they are close enough for value comparison.

Dave

Yeah we on the East coast aren't used to no rust old cars. When we see one our eyes tend to pop out of our head.
Compared to most I over payed a bit for my Fury III but the relative price compared to cookie cutter /popular/cult cars I see at all car cruises it was dirt cheap. I do see your point though Dave. If I was on the lookout for such a car I would seriously consider it being rust free and throw a nice paint job on it for 6000 bucks purchase price. Not many buy C bodies to make money or consider it a good investment. If at the end of my driving days if I break even I will feel lucky. I bought it just cause I like it. Life is short!!!

Thanks! That's what I was thinking, obviously that seat cover has been replaced and apparently they took the easy way out and went all white vinyl instead of the original combination. Doesn't look bad, actually looks nice, but stands out a little too much with all the other components being black/ white.
