1965 pace car restoration

Power steering pump is sorted just need to collect it this week. Fitted the last of the zinc plated items. Sat the air cleaner on to check fit, need to paint it when I do the remaining items black in the next week. I zinc plated it just to give it that clean look inside. I need to source a correct radiator core so I can get mine rebuilt. Anyone have any idea where in the US I can buy the correct core. I used to be able to get them locally here but I’ve had trouble finding one. I was going to pull mine apart so I can tidy up the top tank as it has a couple of bits id like to smooth out.

Picked up the power steering pump and fitted it this week. Also gave the starter motor a freshen up with some new bits and paint.

I painted the air cleaner with some satin 2pac over the weekend. Also painted a few other items in gloss black. Don’t think it’s the right decal for the air cleaner but it’s one I had here so I’ve decided to use it. I’ve ordered a new distributor and some leads which hopefully will arrive over the next few weeks.

Stripped the radiator this week to do some repairs to the top tank prior to getting a new core installed. Also picked up some stainless mufflers and tube for the exhaust. In keeping with my build theme it’s all been about doing as much as I can myself at home. I’ve also started making the new transmission lines.

I built the new exhaust system over the last couple of weeks. Very labour intensive climbing under the car a few hundred times with crap shoulders but it came out better than I hoped. All done in 2 1/2 inch stainless.

Radiator came back from shop last week. It’s an old school place only a few hundred metres down the rd from my place. He did a really nice job. It’s a locally made high flow core which should keep things cool especially here at present. Temps are up around 38-40 degrees last few days and we’re still a few weeks away from the start of summer yet. We had some crazy storms here last week that produced 5inch plus size hail which destroyed lots of homes and cars.

I am speechless at your abilities and attention to detail. I wish you weren't half the world away from me, to see it in person.

It’s up and running. Still a bit to sort but it starts and moves for the first time since the early 70’s. Not sure whether the video link above will work.

Thanks mate, were pretty lucky the weather is good enough to cruise all yr round here, but summer does get a bit much. 42 degrees here (about 110f) yesterday which doesn’t lend itself well to vinyl seat cruising lol.
