1966 Chrysler Newport 2dr Hardtop - $18,500 - Dubuque, Iowa

FB Description

A true survivor! Spanish Red, 383 2-barrel, 2-door hard top, power steering, vinyl roof, 51,308 miles. Has never seen snow. No rust anywhere. All chrome is perfect including grill and bumpers. No cracks on dash or steering wheel. All glass is perfect, as well as door panels and sill plates. Still has inspection marks from factory and original dealer decal on rear bumper. There is a tear in the driver's seat. I'm the 3rd owner and have had it for 11 years.

That looks fantastic! (in my very biased opinion). Quite a survivor. Low optioned though. That grey spackle paint in the trunk wouldn't be original, and the original cardboard liners were removed. I wonder why that was done?

You're saying the grey spackle trunk paint is original? Both my Newport and Windsor had body-colour in the trunk. I think my dad's and brother's Chryslers do too, but I'm not 100% sure.
 
Look in a 66 FSM. If it had trunk spackel the color will be listed in section 23 with the paint and trim colors. I know by ‘68 they were using the spackel paint. I don’t have a 66 manual so I can’t look.
