Hi fellow C body masochists! I'm in the process of painting my 68 Turbine bronze 300 convertible , i believe it had a gray pin stripe on the side was that factory? I found a good guy in PA who doesn't have to put his kids thru collage with any wok he does , He is almost there i want to stripe it if that's the deal. I had a red one and it had no stripe as i remember but I'm older than dirt and my mind is going! any info would be great also i want to re-chrome the bumpers or anyone selling a pair? (pipe dream)! If anyone wants his contact info let me know ! Thanks all and be kind ! I'm attaching the before picture and will post as as soon as i get progress pictures. It has the big engine and is loaded and factory disc brakes. Or my 70 300. Getting old and i want my holy grail car soon.

Great looking car! Same color combination as my '67 Newport CE23.

Pin stripes were usually black or white, back then. Usually color-keyed to the interior. You can verify what was OEM on your car in the Color and Trim books at www.hamtramck-historical.com That link might not work, so you might need to input the information manually.

fender tag might show stripe color, When you say it has big engine, is it 375hp 440 or standard 350hp 440?

This is my fender tag from my 68 300. On the 3rd line down it shows the interior color TRM M3X(black leather) paint PNT HH1 ( antique ivory) and then I believe the S B is black paint stripe.

Nice car!
I have a Turbine Bronze 68 Newport Custom.
I painted my car in 2017.
Water bourne base/ clear.
It is a hard color to match and the best match my painter found was under Dupont' s automotive second line.
Not cheap but well worth it. $1800 for a gallon!!
Not a common color and the metallic drives the cost up as well.
The size of the car does matter in regards how much paint is needed.
Mine got a full gallon of base and two gallons of clear.
4 coats of clear with the cut and buff shaving a coat off.
Heres a few pics. Mind you it is a hard color to capture properly when photgraphing!.
My car came factory black pinstripe.
I did not put it back on.
My opinion it disrupts the lines of the car

If in New Jersey, make the drive up to Syracuse NY to Sandy's Bumper Mart.
They are nice people to deal with.
Street quality chrome, resonable prices.
Typical turn over is 3 months.
Tell thrm Leaburn in Canada sent ya!
