While I wait for my slant 6 to be machined I stumbled upon a slant 4!
I dug this thing out of a garage. Hasn’t ran in years, rusty, but complete. It will definitely be on the back burner until the Fury is finished.
It’s equipped with the “Powr-Lok” differential! Dana 44 I think?

Nice find! Wish a couple would drop in my lap. It's a Dana 44 rear, chassis numbers below G422014 had Powr-Lok, above had Trac-Lok, IH never changed the decal in the glove box door. With a 196 it's almost guarantied to be 4.27 ratio. I've been selling IH parts since 1972, and I have some NOS parts for this truck. I'm into Scout II's and '69-'75 IH pickups, I have around 20.

I’ll keep you in mind!

Sorry, I thought I saw flanged axles in the video. But from your picture, and re-watching the video, she has a Dana 30 rear with tapered axles.

I bought this to patch together and run the woods in. Now it looks like it’s in restorable condition. What to do?

100 point resto. VW may be bringing back the scout name for a new electric suv. if it happens and catches on at all, it'll likely drive up interest and values for these old fellas as well.

I’m thinking along the lines of cobbling it together however I can cheaply and having fun ..or selling it to someone who wants to do it right. One or the other. I’ve got finished projects I haven’t had time to enjoy. I don’t need another time consuming involved project!
