Critter"s Coroner Report...…………..

Subject... 1970 Sport Fury GT
Time of Death...46,000 Miles
Place of Death...Utah
Cause of Death...shoemaker got ahold of it

From information l had gathered on car and from things l found with car like direct connection valve covers..aftermarket 70s steerin wheel had figured someone was raceing the car and blew engine and or tranny and car was parked at 46k being it was also a lease car...

This has turned out to be a false assumption on my part after tieing into the engine bay and interiors wireing harness...
Started on the engine bay harness and ran into issues right off with melted wireing and a attempt to bypass it only to reroute it right back into same wire that was shorted out solving nothing...took me awhile to sort out what the hell was going on but got the majority of it and will sort out rest when engine ect are in...
At that point seeing l was runnin outa parts to deal with decided it best to tackle bulkhead electrical and get it set into dash and cleaned up....
Again l ran into one attempt to sort out electrical issue but realized it was a failed attempt as well once l mustered up the courage to yank whole harness from car and cracked bulkhead connector open..

part of wireing was getting worn and rubbed away by stacked red metal power leads

after that went through whole harness..unwrapping..checking and rewrapping...was happy to see no other attempts to fix electrical...whole harness still had factory wrap....
In anycase guess they gave up and got rid of car being a lease car it was probally sold or auctioned at which point engine and tranny were pulled...
A sad death due to people adding **** they don't know how to and atmpts by a somewhat less than talented mech or yard boy...………..

lve added different colors where they shouldn't be...
lve added parts from a different car....
l have to be honest here...lm somewhat disappointed l haven't triggered anyone yet
Yeah, it's just friggin awful how some folks take a basket case and don't make everything factory correct...

I doubt anyone will give you grief while they see what you started with. Maybe after it's a complete, operating car.

That is really ugly. Ya gotta wonder how that damage occurred. Looks like something got stuffed up against it and constantly rubbed against it. Any idea what it was ?

A & B were the contact points..red power and blue and white were shorted...red wire bottom was worn open from heated and melted wireing probally..

red and green were fused together

had l not checked bulkhead connectors and harness woulda been mighty displeased when l tried to power this puppy up...

Looks like someone was trying to find the problem with a test light by piercing the wire, big NO NO.
