1972 Dodge Monaco parts wagon

WOW! That goofy little tractor really clears the snow.

Ha! The top picture is the other green wagon I hauled back to IL in December.

It mainly depends on how reassembly of the other green wagon goes!
Was able to go through the loose pieces and was pleasantly suprised to see the headlight door motor! And a license plate from 1988.

I'd guess that the mileage on the odometer is consistent with being on the road for 16 years, but who knows for sure.

A few more pictures of some parts I'll be utilizing. My other green wagon is missing the battery tray and fuel tank.

The white wagon needs a straight bumper

And the blue one has cracked tailights and could use these clean ones.

It's a shame this engine is locked up. When the weather clears up a bit I'm going to look in the cylinders with a bore scope.

And just check out these clean original brake lines. It's ironic how the floorboard rust is because of the water leaking INTO the vehicle. From the underneath looking up, things appear solid.

Is it a 230 or 630 block?
I'm not sure what numbers are on it. I've heard there are some 72 blocks that are desireable, but I'm not sure on the specifics...you must know more about it huh?

So far, I know that my 400CI motor came in a "C" body 1972 MOPAR. I also know that the 3614230-4 block I have is the heavier duty block with the thicker webbing. Hence, the preferable one to make a strocker out of.
What I don't know is, ¿ Did all 1972 MOPAR 400CI cars have this 3614230-4 block?View attachment 295692

After a little research I found this info...I'll hafta go check and take a pic of the casting numbers.

Two years ago I bought and helped pull a 400 engine/trans from a 74 Monaco that @Greenpeace For Monaco’s was parting out...that engine appears to be the 630 casting

In 1984 I bought a 69 Polara 500 for 80 bucks. I pulled the engine to use in my 71 Polara. I presumed it to be a 383-2. Once pulled and cleaned orange paint was showing through the blue. Further investigation proved it to be a 1972 400-4 HP engine.
Apparently the 383 in the 69 went bad and was swapped out with the 400 and they switched the carb, intake , and exhaust manifolds.
I loved that 400! With Hooker headers and a Thermoquad added, wow.
I love those non smog early 400s.

I know what you mean, back in the 90s I had a Cordoba with a 400 and it ran great with an Edelbrock on it.

Yes 630 is a good block, I have one tucked away. 230 is even better with huge main webbing casting. Definitely don't pitch it as stuck, it's worth trying to get the rotating assem out to eval the block

Whoops, that's another one you said. The 72 will be a 230 or 630 if it's original

Ok just got back in from the cold, here's a picture of the casting numbers from the engine, looks to be the infamous 230 block.

As far as this 400 goes, it's going to be pulled and sent out to be checked. If things are ok, there's a good chance I'll be ordering those parts we talked about from 440 Source to make this into a stroker beast.

The other green wagon is going to get the modified 440 Warlock engine...you know, your green wagon :poke:

Ok a few weeks ago my youngest son and I pulled the drivetrain. Needed most of the brackets, bolts, water pump housing,, etc for the bare 440 I bought to install in my other green 72 wagon...also need the 727. Anyway here's some pics of the removal, enjoy!
