1972 Fury Spare Tire Mount

I am looking for a diagram of the spare tire mount for my 1972 Fury III. Also, I was talking to Gary Wollfen, who told me that the mount may not be stock. So, the first picture is what my 1972 trunk looks like. The only thing I know is different is that my 1972 Fury uses a slot in the bumper, rather than the hook pictured with my 1970 Fury (2nd pic). What I don’t know is if my 1972 fury should have mounting brackets like the 1970 Fury pictured. Is my 1972 mount stock? If not, what should it look like? Thanks. Ben

Interesting to note that both the 72 and 73 New Yorker I had here is like the image you have of the 70 Fury you have. They both used the hook type jacks of which I still have here.
 
Picture #2 is what I'd consider a "standard" C-body situation, even for the earlier than '72 closed cars (sedans and hardtops).

My 1971 Fury only has what can be seen above for the 1972 Furys. I believe that is the original setup while 1971 Chryslers still had what is pictured above for the 1970 Fury. Perhaps that difference is due to a cost-saving initiative from Plymouth division for the 1971 model year?
 
I see that there is some locating brackets on top of the hump for the Jack assy, I think that confirms the system as seen in Ben's car is correct and all we need see now is how the jack assy and spare wheel bolts in place.
 
So does the tire keep the jack from rattling and shifting in the brackets, I guess by downward pressure?

Yes...I believe so. It doesn't feel like the jack is tied down. Plus the spare tire really has to sit on top of the jack in order for the mounting rod to reach all the way through the wheel.
 
Just getting back to this issue. Got a virus last week, pretty harsh, much NyQuil and Allegra D.

Here’s what someone did to my Jack mounting brackets. Smashed forward and flat. I’m not sure if I can get them back to original form, so my Jack may rattle around if it’s in the original brackets. I’m going to see how it works mounted on the spare tire stud. Some experimentation ahead.

I couldn’t get the tire stud to stand upright with the jack installed on the stud. That Idea didn't work.

I took two pry bars and a hammer to the jack mounts. After prying them part way up, I was able to hammer the front of them towards the rear of the car. In the end, I got them pretty straight up and down. I installed the jack in them. It turns out that they’re basically a guide. I put the spare tire on the mounting stud and it does hold the jack in place. I’m not sure how the tire iron was mounted, but right now I’m just keeping that on the side of the trunk.

Commonly the jack handle was 'pinched' between the jack's base and the wheel, usually toward the short side of the base or the top side as you show yours. So the handle would protrude with the ends pointing kind of toward the rear of the car with the 'v' of the handle approximately in the center of the wheel.
