Getting ready to put the trans back in the Polara just getting my measurements right so I have some questions
1: should I replace the original flex plate for the 727 since it came off my spare 360. It looked slightly warped but what is a direct replacement for it and what grade hardware should I use?

2:on my spare 360 that had the 727 it had some support beams that went from the block to the trans and no cover plate to protect the flywheel from debris for the half that hangs below the engine block what can I use there?

(1st photo is the 727 with the old flexplate mocked up, the second photo is the protective plate that’s used to be in my a904)

Use whatever flex plate fits your torque converter and is in the best shape. Use the stock hardware, I use blue lock tight on them. Use the inspection cover to keep debris from getting in. The support brackets are a good idea on heavy cars like ours but I have seen many without them. I personally would use them as long as they don’t interfere with anything.
