God i hate that 3/4 Vinyl top Thing and i Love Vinyl top cars. 71's are much nicer. 73's can be made to look pretty good though...with 71 Parts that is. :D

That's where they should have called it quits. Right there!
None of that mid-70's foo-foo.
I'd love it even more without the canopy roof, tho.

One can tell both of you are not products of the 70s:poke:
The roof/window treatment, fixed opera windows on next gen B bodies and the covered over rear windows on a NYB are gravy on the mashed potatoes.

I don't like the SE hood ornaments on a Charger nor the canopy vinyl roofs either. I see them mostly as muscle cars, and the 71s are the only ones I like for that reason. I guess the gussied up ones from 72-74 sold better to the mass market, but in that context, they are not that appealing to me.

I do have a 1971 Charger R/T but it too needs restoration. The body is pretty nice, with minimal rust. I do not care whether I will be upside down when done or not, as I don't plan on selling this one anytime soon. I am more upside down on my C bodies, but that doesn't matter either. What matters is whether I like the car when done.

My Father in Law had a 73 in petty blue 400 4speed, I prefer the 71 though.
