1973 Torsion Bars: Both are still installed on the car. The tension on both torsion bars is the same. The left side, driver’s-side torsion bar has a significant bend. I used my three-foot straight edge and I believe there is a bend of approximately ½ inch across the length of the torsion bar. By contrast, the right side, passenger side torsion bar is arrow straight. I see no evidence of a wreck on the left side. What might cause the left side torsion bar to bend so much?

Thanks!

Someone drove over a stump, or even worse from jacking as mentioned.

I don't let tire shop guys use rollaround jacks on my rigs.

LOL. I've owned a whole bunch of cars and trucks. Usually I don't buy cars that have been abused.
71 SF GT is an exception, mainly to save it from getting parted.
