1974 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham - cars & trucks - by owner -...

Rare top of the line Chrysler New Yorker Brougham; 51,000 original miles; 1 of 4,533 made; iconic big block 440 4 Barrel, V8, 7.2 L, 3 Speed, 375 HP; automatic; car was always garaged and it shows; 3rd owner; highly optioned; rust free; best guestimate from Forum is maybe 400 Broughams left on the road! Car is mechanically fully recommissioned (with $10k in receipts) after it sat in a car collection.

Original engine, super original flawless interior – no cracks, spots or cuts anywhere; original carpet; one repaint about 10 years ago; very shiny exterior; incredible and excellent chrome throughout; new tires; original hub caps; A/C (converted), power seats, remote mirror, tilt and telescope steering wheel, working AM/FM original radio. Original cloth 50/50 power bench seats with armrests as well as head rests; Original vinyl roof (no cuts or bubbles) ; perfect glass (except one stone chip); all lights working; original trunk tags and some engine tags; Original books, spare and tools. Carpeted trunk. Vent windows; hood mounted turn signals;
The body is finished in Starlight Blue Exterior color. It is super straight, and rust free both top and bottom. Has some paint irregularities commensurate with age; The trunk and engine compartment look close to new. Spare full size tire. This car drives as good as it looks, and is guaranteed to draw attention. The 1974 models were the last full-size models Chrysler designed from the ground up, and one of the last to receive the big dog 440 4 Barrel RB V8, 375 HP. Only 4,533 New Yorker Broughams were made in 1974.
This 1974 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham 4 door survivor is from an era of big elegant stately sedans. These Chrysler New Yorkers Broughams are luxury at its finest, with elegant looks, and plenty of punch with its 440 4 Barrel V8. Original 440 Engine 4 Barrel, last year BEFORE Leanburn. Clean, I like it but unless the engine was rebuilt and modified it is more like 220-275 h.p.

230 net hp for the T code / E85 in 74

its got 77- 89 Diplomat / 77-81 Lebaron & Newport St. Regis wheel covers

If you're gonna swap different 'original' wheelcovers on, there are much better choices than those.

275hp would be correct for a '74 440hp - that could be a typo.
But HPs were not available in civilian C-bodies after 71, so...

High performance valve cover gaskets and oil pan gaskets can do wonders... :realcrazy:

And what is this all about? (clueless)

A/C converted to R12
New tank feeler Feeler?

.

Looks nice and clean and California car. Plenty of work has been done, I am sure it all adds up.

The seller likely just google'd "How much horsepower does a 440 make?" and got the response for a '60s spec engine. $16,000 seems steep for a sedan, but it's good that these formals are getting the recognition they deserve
