1977 Dodge Royal Monaco Brougham Sedan - $7,000 - Roanoke, Indiana

FB Description

My grandmother is trying to sell her 77 dodge royal Monaco Brougham! My grandma and grandpa bought this car brand new at Hartley garage here in Roanoke. There is a small dent in the right rear quarter panel as seen in picture above. Runs and drives, interior in great condition, might need some carb work as it won’t idle on its own currently. Asking $7000 or best offer!

To much trouble to open the doors for a better interior shot??

I think this generation is used to voice-activated doors.

I don't know what trim level my car is, but I've yet to see another Monaco with an equally plush interior. It would be fun to buy this and just park it next to mine at shows.

Now this is what I like to see, even if it is a more door. That little battle scar would pop right out.

But one has to wonder how long until this Royal Monaco is turned black and white and facelifted. And that would be a total waste.

IDK... I think folks who apparently know little about repairing such damage shouldn't advertise what's "minor". This isn't a job for paintless dent removal to save the day. The creases will need some additional work and the paint has been scuffed/broken too much... so now there's paint/pin stripe/color matching to be done... the repair just got more expensive and my not being a professional painter, IDK how much fun it would be to make look right.

@azblackhemi , any thoughts?

BTW, I still like this a bunch. BUT, I'd want the price to adjust to reflect the cost of repair.

Not showing the steering wheel condition is either sneaky or a major mistake.

Jeff is right, not a walk in the park to fix. The dent itself isn't too difficult although it won't "just pop out". It's the paint issues that are complicated. Very tough to match the color, the texture and the shine. If it's original paint it's single stage enamel. No good way to blend it where it will last or even look good. That leaves panel painting. Good luck getting a match that way. If it were mine I'd probably paint the repair in basecoat clearcoat so I could blend it along the panel and clear to the door. Maybe use an old school acrylic enamel clear (if you can find it) to try to match texture and shine. Not a fun job for sure.

I LOVE your Royal Monaco Brougham. My first new car was a 76 Royal Monaco Brougham (DP41N6D184805) which I ordered with the first year LEAN BURN (only on the 400 cu in) and loved. Some miscreant stole the car from my driveway or I'd still have it. Norm

As for that paint repair difficulty - I agree.
My gut tells me you'll also find a lot of gravel-pock surface rust in numerous spots below the stianless rocker molding.

I would take the seller/photographer of this car to be not-versed in the proper methods to photo/describe a classic car.
