Standard Formal pricing... $12k is close to 4 cars... maybe 5 if your cheap enough. It's meant as a joke, but cuts on reality, unfortunately or fortunately depending on where you are in the buying cycle.

I agree this one looks nice to me too... but it's a dealer at the limit of what they believe the market will bear. I bet they invested less than half that price. Is this by chance the same car that was around $20k many months ago? I could live with the colors, but I bet they don't get too many hearts thumping...

Aftermarket body side molding means there is a hole drilled every 6-8" along the body. I'm one of the weirdos that likes that color, but only with white trim; which makes me even more weird I suppose.

Can't blame a guy for trying. I generally support higher values for these cars, but there are better deals to be had. You're paying for his overhead and presentation.

... it's likely stik-on.
...

When I tried the sales gig in '79, I would watch the guys installing it drill all those holes and pop rivet the base of the moulding onto the car. I used to cringe when they just drilled the two holes into the trunk lid for the dealer emblem.

I like it! Reminds me of the one we had when I was a kid.
As for price, I think values are set lower on this forum than anywhere else. So
Unless the potential buyer already belongs here, I think they'll get near the asking price due to the apparent condition.

How do you get paint chips on the leading edge of a door?

Not uncommon in this spot with 4doors to my experience. Some people somehow manage to enter the front seat in such an awkward style that These damages occur.

Many of the nice ones I have seen in that kind of condition/pricing seem to be still available 2 years later. The ads disappear for a while sometimes, but the cars don't seem to sell there too often... those that do appear to sell are usually colors with more appeal.
