I have a 1978 Chrysler new yorker brougham for sale. 400 engine, starts right up. Power windows. It has 40+,000 original miles. Car was sitting for a long time. All original factory. Clean title in hand.

Despite the two mandatory potential areas of concern ( wiper bushing and ATC II), it still looks like a fantastic deal.

Now I could live with this color Green !!!! especially with the white roof & interior ..... :os_dancing2:

I love the look of those seats. I'd have to ask Stan if they are as comfortable as they look because they sure look comfortable.

I'm not a vinyl fan. A cloth interior has always been a selling point.
But comfort? Yes!
With the interior room, a simple 6-way seat, and the tilt/telly column, all the ergonomics are there that make it a cross-country cruiser. The ergonomics is all there.
All it needs for 100% perfection is a Firm-Feel steering box and the cop Power Steering pump to get it on a straight course. I dialed in as much caster on the front wheels as possible and I still have to concentrate on keeping it centered in the lane and it wears you out after awhile.

Have to spend some money somewhere and for the buy in price of the magic 2500 you will have enough left over.

Always another shade of green to discover.

Just spoke with the seller. It's local, so I was going to go look at it, but he said he just sold it.

You bought it? It was a steal if you ask me.

FWIW, the seller told me it had been sitting for a number of years and only rust he found was minor around the rear window, and that the top needed replacement. (he did volunteer a friend of his does vinyl to replacements for around $200. if I were having it shipped to FL, I'd have the guys buddy do the top for $200 before it went on the trailer. You'd still be ahead on that purchase price. Only other thing mentioned was when he had it out on the highway and when braking it pulled to the right.

Rust around the rear window is not usually minor. You would not want to replace that top until the rust issue was fixed. For $200 that is just going to hide the problem, and you will have the same issue sooner than later, and have to replace it again.

I tried Firm Feel steering boxes on two of my cars admittedly quite a few years ago, and besides a leak in one of them, both had lousy on-center feel and lacked directional stability. Steer & Gear is the only gear remanufacturer I use now. So much better. Maybe I was just unlucky, but twice was enough for me.

That is good information to know. Thanks for your feedback.
