It does have the "L" VIN engine code =

L - 360 1 - 4BBL 8 cylinder "LA" engine (high performance)

That is a stunning 300!!!

Very rare too.......production was very, very low.....I forgot the number.

All of the 1979 300's were Spinnaker White with red interior's.........except a handful (maybe 50 IIRC) were red with red interior's. I've only seen 2 red ones with my eyeballs....ever. I have a picture of a red one somewhere.

I wonder if that grill design is the inspiration for what Mopar is currently using in most cars built today. I love that grill emblem too!

I remember when the car mags were writing about the following year models and there would be 300.
Everybody crossed their fingers hoping for a 440 and even possibly a manual tranny but alas, it was all wishfull thinking...

Hey it's up to you man. How rusty is the frame?

If the body is straight and the frame OK....well....from there all it takes is time and $, right? ;)

If I remember what I read, this is basically a "B-body", right?

So...theoretically....should be possible to build that (not that I could).

You have built the auto to manual conversion, so you would have a lot better idea.

Pedals and shifter from a mid-70s Charger donor car...umm...I guess?

That cross-hair grill design with the 300 in the middle has been around a while.

At least since 1960.

The passenger Trunk Inner fender extension is gone. The Frames and floors are good. Trunk lid has a hole in it. it looks like It had been setting a long time. It's a puzzle, under the hood and around the trans it's super clean, and nothing has been tampered with. Original exhaust, rear sway bar, etc. The radio even works. AM/FM eight track. if you step on the brakes, the four way flashers activate. So, some minor electrical issues I'm sure. It is white and red at least. Early sept car, and shows 69,400. Who knows though,,,,

The Canada-spec '79 300 production is VERY low. Of the 3,811 total '79 300 cars, I've read that only 101 were Canada-spec. I can not find that number referenced anywhere that I can link to, though.

The 300 in the post is absolutey stunning! And 13k? I don't believe mine could ever come up to that, not to mention the mileage, which can't be duplicated. But, mine starts right up, and drives well for the age. The tires are new treadwise, but badly cracked.(15 years old) The car looks like it was under a cottonwood tree for a long time,, with leaves and cottonwood recently, like the door was opened, and crap flew everywhere. no mice, the Interior looks like the typical high mountain wear and tear.
Patrick mentioned 3,811 total, which is less then I read, but I can't trust my source, Galens book.Lol
Engine running? Transmission shifting?

All the conjecture was before Chrysler nailed the coffin shut on 440s once and for all on the 78 model year. The last Mopar was built in 1978 as far as I am concerned.
