Hope this is not a repost. I just missed this 300 ragtop for sale between Akron and New Canton in OH. The car sold yesterday, and the seller does not have a photo of the tag. Here are the photos and text in the ad, for records:

"1970 CHRYSLER 300 CONVERTIBLE. (...) THE CAR IS IN "PROJECT" CONDITION AND IS PARTIALLY DISASSEMBLED. FRAME IS SOLID, HAS TYPICAL RUST AROUND WHEEL WELLS .

DRIVETRAIN: 440 ENGINE, 727 TRANS, 8-3/4 DIFF. ENGINE/TRANS NOT ORIGINAL TO CAR. ENGINE IS A 1970 "F" CASTING

CONVERTIBLE HYDRAULICS OPERATE, TOP FRAMEWORK IN GOOD WORKING ORDER,
TOP WAS REPLACED APPROX 7 YEARS AGO AND IN FAIR CONDITION.
ALL GLASS AND MODEL SPECIFIC CHROME TRIM, BUMPERS, GRILL AND TAIL LIGHT PANELS ARE THERE.(...)

Too bad the car ended up in the wrong hands. I suppose its original drivetrain was donated to the B body next to it in the first two photos.

Does that mean eventually our C bodies will become ultra rare? My car came from a Mopar guy who wanted the engine. Thankfully, it was drinking down oil which saved it.

How do you know this? That engine might have been in the 300 before he got it.

That is why I said "suppose". Why would he pull the engine if it was in it when he got it? He already has a B body project going on and doesn't seem to have done much else with the 300 or want to keep it either. I could surely be wrong, but I can't help but be a little cynical given the circumstances. But you have a valid point too.

No single word about if the rear valance panel is around the car or not.
