Does anybody know the Combustion Chamber size on a 1967 318 LA engine? I'm looking to replace the cam and cylinder heads on my 1967 Sport Fury and I can't find the Combustion Chamber size in the Service Manual nor online.

From the Direct Connection Performance Manual.

273 and 318 heads in 1967 were the same casting (meaning the chambers are the same size) and as you can see, both heads in the un-milled condition are 61cc.

LOTS of great information in those old Direct Connection Race Manuals! All 1000 pages of them.

As you are installing a cam, I presume you are looking for some more power?

The head from the TBI-era 318s would be ideal. The are closed-chambered with small valves and swirl technology. I would guess they'd add 15hp to 60s 318, esp with a mild cam change. -902 casting #?
Then the 360 head from the TBI era is similar but larger valves (and maybe open-chamber?) and would give more flow.
Both those heads are LA pre-cursors to the Magnum head.
Those heads are reportedly prone to cracking between the valve seats (the Magnums are more famous for it) but it doesn't seem to harm performance/driveability. Nobody knows their heads are cracked until they remove them.

Magnum heads woudl be an even better upgrade -- but there are more parts that must be changed to use them.

Thank you for your reply. I am having a difficult time locating heads that are compatible with the 318 LA engine. I was on the phone yesterday with Summit Racing asking about cylinder heads. They responded that the only heads they have for my engine are the Edlebrock Victor Series Racing heads (EDL-61729) which is not what I’m looking for. You mentioned heads from the TBI era. Sorry for my ignorance but, what is the TBI era and where could I source these heads? Thank you.

What is your goal? Sounds like your goal is replacement/stock parts but with a little more hp? But please confirm.
What is your budget?
Doing the work yourself?
And what is your timeframe? (meaning, can you wait a month+ for the parts you want?)

TBI = throttle body injection
Summit and other speed-shops likely won't have a standard iron head for you.

Here's a list from Aerohead, which is a division of Indy Cylinder Head. Google them on reputation, I've seen a few negative comments on them, but folks are generally more likely to complain than to applaud. Don't know if this list is still valid, it is linked from Indyheads.com but the filename suggests it is from 2015. ???

Here's a listing of cyl head #s on this page, and looks pretty thorough except the swirl-port 360 head (of late 80s-1992) isn't listed.
But my memory is refreshed - the swirl-port 318 heads are -302, and the 360 version is -308. My memory is foggy but the 302 is closed-chamber and the 308 is open chamber, and 308 has larger valves.
A Guide To Mopar V8 Cylinder Head And Block Casting Numbers

Here's some discussion of 302 vs 308 heads. Don't get wrapped up in the piston and cam choices too much (unless the OP's goals match yours, of course).
318 cylinder head choices

If you want to go to a more modern head, the 5.2/5.9 Magnum head is a large increase in efficiency - which gives power AND mpg. Magnum heads DO require some additional parts-matching to put them on an older LA block, though. I used to know all of those details, but it has faded over the years (and details matter!). Teh valvetrain oiling, intake manifold moutning to the heads, and water neck area require special consideration. And you need a 4-barrel intake, too. Whether you have factory AC might also be an issue.

Hughes Engines is a Mopar specialist and has some listings for Magnum heads (no iron heads for LA):
