As my name suggests these are my first love. Have had 8 of them in my life and still have my first Doba all were 78-79’s and a few 81/82’s thrown in for good measure. This is a great example of the car thanks for posting!
The round headlights in the prior years were a turnoff for me - kind of like early Jaguars and their puckered up looking sourness.
While I like this square, stacked headlights 1979 Cordoba much better, I still preferred the Magnums a bit more overall. I had ordered a B9 blue 1979 Magnum as our company lab car when I worked for them back then, with a matching blue corduroy interior like this Cordoba. It was one of my favorite cars ever - it even had the optional suspension package and the 360-4 bbl engine.
Kind of like this one (but with factory wheels like the 1979 Cordoba has in the listing above):
Like Dobalovr I also liked the circa 81s too, but they weren't quite up to the quality of materials in the interior of these earlier ones. But they handled and looked great too.
I like the Magnum listed above. I believe the roof is a crank operated roof. Cordobas
are nice but if available a Magnum is my preference. I drove a '79 GT in 1980-1983. It took thirty years plus to find another one with the "Trifecta" G.T package, T-tops and E-58 Police package engine and suspension. Here is my car before the door edge guard was removed. The car will be repainted this Spring removing the add on vinyl roof.
