40+???? factory marking under the hood.

My 65 Plymouth appears to have "40+" written in yellow under the hood. Does anyone know what this means?

nope. the car is all original and the hood shows no evidence of ever being off the car.

Its the temperature that your coolant is good till -40F or colder. Mechanics used to mark the temp on the rad or under the hood....at least they did up here
