440 Air Condition

Has anybody replaced the air condition compressor on a 440 with a newer one? I understand that later models have a more efficient compressor. My car is a 1965 New Yorker and I would like to keep the other factory parts. I called Vintage Air and they are an option. They suggested the whole kit, but I would like to stay factory but upgrade the compressor. The original compressor looks like my air compressor in my garage.
