66 Newport

No smog before 73 I believe. Didn't have to smog the 65 NYr when I bought it. Had a clean title and no back reg. Just had to buy plates for it

That's good news.
Yeah and if it's out of the DMV system for long enough they wipe it with a clean title and start fresh. This one will get the California black and yellow plates. I still need to get them for my 65 NYr. I can't wait to drive them both!

Good luck with the DMV, hopefully it goes smooth. If the person you bought it from had a title in their name, they can file for a lost/duplicate title and then sign it over to you. They may be able to fill out the lost title and transfer at the same time and save a step, not sure. If it is one or more owners away from the titled owner, good luck.

The smog rules (emissions) in California are '75-down do not need inspection, 76-up must be tested on transfer and every 2 years in most areas. There are counties where testing is only required upon title transfer or if the vehicle is coming in from out of state.

Travis..

Black and yellow plates are $50 up front and i believe $40 per year extra to keep them if memory serves. We have them on 2 of our cars. You can get the random number, or personalized, same price.

Brought her home today. I don't know why but I think I'll call her Dolly

Not the homestead. It's where the car was sting the past week at a friends house. Picked her up and hauled her home today

Well, here ya guys go. Took the wife out for a little cruise around the neighborhood today. I know I called out her name as Dolly because it was on the trailer yesterday but I think I'm gonna change her name to Reba.
"Here's ya one chance fancy don't let me down"
