i have a 1974 new yorker brougham. it has 22,000 miles and is all original. everything works except my air. the rear air works but when i press the buttons on the auto temp control 2, nothing happens, no sound even. any help?

I think he's talking about the rear window defogger. 1974's used the electric blower motor.

thanks alot guys, that should help. i can hear a hissing sound at all times in the interior of the vehicle, so it could be some sort of leak. and yes i meant the rear defogger

I normally dislike white cars, but on some it works well. That's a beauty.

As for the hissing in the car, check for if your car has automatic parking brake release (you'll be able to tell if your car has no Parking brake lever on the lower dash panel). The vacuum valve for automatic parking brake release is often the cause for interior vacuum leaks on these cars. The valve is at the base of the steering column.

The Autotemp II is heavily reliant on vacuum too, so that could also be the culprit.
