78 New Yorker Dash - Dash Pad Removal

Okay, next project is removing the dash pad and painting it. The pad is severly sun bleached, but not cracked! I saw this a while back, and am wondering if tearing the dash apart is the easiest path to the front screws holding the pad. Any thoughts?

The pad on my 65 Fury is held down by clips and is just a matter of pulling it up. If there are screws, I would think you take them out but the pad may still be held down by the clips (through holes in the dash). I sent mine out 25 years ago (don't remember where) and had it repadded; not that expensive and looks great!
