79 300 Restoration

Two red leather-wrapped and padded steering wheels were available. Wrapped steering wheels are softer, much thicker and easier to grasp than the skinny all-plastic ones. Optional tilt wheels have a thick single crossbar with a 300 medallion in the center. The standard three-spoke wheel has a much lighter, more stylish appearance, but lacks the medallion. The striking style variation between the tilt and non-tilt is due to the tilt-wheel being a GM Saginaw adaptation.

1979 SALES CODES
The leather-wrapped single crossbar steering wheel is Code S81 and Code S62 tilt steering column is required.

The three-spoke steering wheel is Code S83.

I went to my desert spot to take some finished pictures. I'm having trouble with my phone getting them to my computer so I'm going to post them here.

I dig that Bill Luke plate frame, Chris! I have a green/orange 73 plate that would be correct for that car if you want it. Fully able to register it with the MVD too.
Yeah I put that on there because it was bought new there! And thanks for the offer but I have a couple of sets of those green plates.

Got my new tires on it today. Some will disagree but I like the look of stock wheels over the chrome ones that came on it. It's a unique wheel on the 300's so they had to go back on. Now the chrome wheels will go on my wagon. i do have to pm @marty mopar to see if he has the 300 decals for the caps.

I understand using the original wheels, but since I was a little kid I always liked the “hot wheels”. And they looked great on this car. Not my car not my wheels so carry on. :)
