My 1967 Sport fury convertible came with the 8 3/4" AXLE: 2.76 Rear Axle Ratio, Sure Grip. I do have a dana rearend from my derby days, should I keep the stock one in or go to the dana. dana would handle more but not sure on the ratio it has. would have to get the numbers off of it. just want some opinions. Thanks

I've heard the Mopar 8 3/4" rear is good up to 500 hp,so unless your getting mega hp out of your engine or are trying to build something indestructable, they why go thru all the trouble. Is this going to be a daily driver, occasional street rod or a track car? It all depends on how much abuse you plan on doing to it.If it's money your looking to spend,I'd think you'd be better off investing in a four link rear suspension setup and subframe connectors.

It is just going to be a driver with around 400 hp. think i'll stick with what's in it. don't have tons of money to put into it so like you said why go through the hassle. Thanks

8.75 will be plenty for you. Those rears will take a beating. Save the Dana for a 1/4 mile car.

The beautiful thing about the 8 3/4 is you can pull the chunk to change gears .. just keep the 2.76 chunk set up in case you take a long trip then put it put it in for the trip.

Dana's that came in muscle cars were either 3.54 or 4.10 .. maybe some oddball stuff out there but that's the OEM ratios
