Working on my 71 chrysler new yorker A/C system. I have the origional hoses which appear to be in good shape and a new RV2 compressor. Currently having the evaporator core and condensor inspected. I will clean out the entire system of the old oil and replace the expansion valve and drier. Will convert to 134. See pics of the origional A/C lines.

While inspecting the fitings, that attach to the compressor I noticed that for the high pressure line there are 2 different fittings. Again see pics. One fitting appears to use a gasket (available on ebay.) The other appears to use an o-ring (possibly a square cut o- ring.) Will a std 134 green o- ring work for this fitting?

A green O-Ring the proper size will work. Be sure to clean all rust and other debris from the groove to insure a good seal. I always use o-rings because the gaskets usually always leak.

Will a gasket work better on the low pressure side? An O-ring doesnt appear correct for this fitting.
