Might be a long wait to sell a "Clone" at that price. The only really obvious thing I can see that is "Off" are the hubcaps. Probably should be dog dish type with holes. Most police cruisers of that era would also have full length rubber floor mats. Over all a good effort at cloning.

I was sure that they would be dog dish, wasn't sure when the vented ones came out. Thanks! Some of the ones coming into the dealership did have the vented caps, but probably they were getting mixed up at the state motor pool during tire changes etc.

Dave

Nope, the vented dog dish debuted in 78 along with the "cop wheel". No C body pursuit ever came from the factory with them.

A 73 pursuit would've had these:

Something else I was curious about, did they ever put the two tone diamond pattern into police cruisers? The pattern I remember was either a monotone black diamond or a monotone tan, usually in a cloth looking vinyl.

Nice restoration. Not a fan of those wheel covers, but if he's replicating a car from a movie and they were on it what can you say.
A little too salty for me.

Oh boy 24 pics, we'll skip the first already posted an pic & chose to the 10 limit.
Nice car with a 400ci, I'm starting to get Dodgeitis but not copitis so we'll skip the cop stuff, sorry.

1973 Dodge Polara Custom. Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Car.

For Sale: Two (2) 1973 Dodge Polar Custom(s).
The First: is a restored 1973 Dodge Polara Custom Converted to a Texas Highway Patrol Car Replicating Unit "2311'' from the 1973 Steven Spielberg film "Sugarland Express". It is not a period correct DPS car at this point, only replicating the movie car. However, I do have a lot of the correct period items that will come with the sale. The car was originally yellow both interior and exterior. The interior has been changed to black and gray. This vehicle was an original Police vehicle. It has a 400 engine, A 440 decal is fixed to the air breather for the movie look. The body has been sprayed with "Line-X" "Rhino Liner". The seats has been reupholstered, new carpet, light and siren work. The light bar is a replicated Mars Sky Bolt Combo. Motorola Radio, Federal Siren. This is a really cool car. It is fun to drive, it smooth sails down the freeway. An eye catcher.
I have many extra parts. I will be throwing in all my extra vintage police items also: Radars, speakers, radios, spot lights, push bumbers, whip antenna, dog dish hub caps, etc.

The Second Car: Is a 1973 Dodoge Polara Custom, yellow in color. It is a parts car that will come with the sale. It has a 400 in it too. It is not running though. Please see the last photo for the second parts car.
