Was wondering whether the front bench seat frame in a California Highway Patrol vehicle is any different than a regular Polara front bench seat? Or were they beefed up for police duty?

Thanks

They are said to be "Heavy Duty" I have not compaired the two to know the difference.
On the outside they are the same.
There is a noteable difference in feel (or is that just New Heavy Duty compaired to worn out standard)

I have one of each.

IIRC there are more springs spaced more closely together on the HD/Police seats.

FYI, this is only on the front seat, the rear seat is a standard seat.

Thanks for the replies guys, as I do have a 1970 Police front bench seat and it sure seemed a lot heavier and sturdier than the standard fare.

Wealth of knowledge here!
