Hello, I am thinking about putting an old Chronometer clock I have in the dash of my 66 Fury II, but I have no idea what the 5 wires on it are for. There is a blue, red, grey, orange, and yellow. What goes where?

It looks like your wires are labeled on the circuit board. Blue wire says IGN (ignition)- key on power. What do the others say on the board? Another maybe red would be battery power to keep the time. One would be ground. The other two to some switch to set or start a count down timer? Show us a picture of the circuit board with the labels.

I agree, one would be constant power to maintain the unit's memory when the key is not on. As a "memory wire" on an electronic display radio with an integral clock. One would be "keyed power" to wake up the unit and brighten the display when the vehicle is operational. There will also need to be a wire that goes to the headlight switch to match the illumination level of the instrument panel, radio, and other things of that nature. That's THREE of the wires accounted for.

Perhaps the "other two" wires would relate to the "Hrs" and "Minutes" reset (think "calibration" functions? One for each segment of changing the display?

Is there a Chrysler part number tag or stamping on the rear of the unit? 7-digt number, probably starting with "4" or "5" or "6"?

Please advise,

Following are the connections for the wiring for the chronometer:
  • Yellow with black tracer: To the head light switch dimmer - Controls intensity of the display with dash/interior lights.
  • Black: To ground. (not grey)
  • Dark blue: To +12V switched, ie. ignition run or "Accessory" - Turns display on/off with key on/off.
  • Red: +12V constant on - Retains time memory.
  • Orange: To light circuit - Signals chronometer to dim for night/dark when lights are on.
