I'm stumped! Fuel gauge help please

For now, "empty" will be half tank and "full" will be just over 3/4 on the gauge haha. I'm excited to get the new fuel tank in so I can drive the car.

Take a read through what I did with a Meter Match. Gas Gauge Fix That will compensate for differences in the resistance of the sender v. the gauge. Cheaper than buying a gauge and sender.

I tried adjusting the dash pot
And not to be "that guy that corrects everything", a dash pot is the piece on carburetor on a manually shifted car that keeps the throttle from closing too fast. It's a mechanical piece. What you have is a potentiometer to adjust resistance, commonly called a "pot".

Carb dash pot.

I just read through the description on the meter match website and it seems like the way to go. I wonder if I can run it on 12-volts
I appreciate the correction. I tend to be a bit pedantic at times (just ask Mrs. Captain Rust Bucket). I grew up in an era of fuel injection and microprocessors so this is all new to me. Forgive my ignorance

I've seen others use the Meter Match with good results. It does run on 12 volts and wires into the sender wire with no power connection to the gauge, so you're good.

And I'm basically an analog type guy that understands carbs better than modern fuel injection!

It appears to me that your printed circuit board is toast. You are missing two pins over on the right side and the third has been re-soldered and otherwise tampered with. Aftermarket printed circuits are available. You may want to consider one. Here is what they look like.

Also, you should get a new voltage limiter. Not sure what to say about your fuel gauge but I would be looking for one of them also.

It's definitely seen better days. I hope to replace it some day. I have other more pressing issues to fix/replace. I will make a note of if for future reference. Thanks @Sixpactogo !

I agree it seems too good to be aftermarket but it's definitely not the original and it's working on 12 volts for sure, so who knows. I tried adjusting the dash pot to no avail. It will have do for now until I can replace some of these parts. For now, "empty" will be half tank and "full" will be just over 3/4 on the gauge haha.
