Can someone help me decode this? Which is the vin? Or is the vin even on this? Is the serial number considered the vin?
Not sure of the year. Couldn't find a vin tag.

I know it's not a C body. But it's a mopar. Figure someone on here must know better than any of the other sites.

Hey, is that an M46 I spy back in the bushes?

The serial number is the VIN on the Dodge/Fargo trucks. (Dodge Truck Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Decoder)

US Serial Number1581793265

Make (1)Dodge
Model (5)D500
Engine (7)318LA V8, 383 V8, 361-2 V8
Plant (second 1)Warren, Michigan
Wheelbase (7)133, 145, 157, 175, 197, 221

The Axle 63 88 means you have a two speed rear with 6.3:1 and 8.8:1 gears (Eaton)

23000 = GVW

You have a 361 Industrial engine with a 4-speed New Process trans, producing 166 hp@3600 RPM.

You have a 2500# front spring (each side) with a 5000# capacity, and a 11,800# rear spring capacity..

You have a 5000# front axle cap and a 15000# rear axle cap.

Thanks Patrick. The link for the truck decoder is awesome!
I have 5 other trucks that I need to decode. Earlier models I think. 63 and 65? Will use it for sure.

Just for kicks I'm posting the pics of some of the trucks here.
No one else on the other sites gives a crap. Seems C body guys are far more varied in their tastes so here is just some old eye candy.

Nice! Does the dump trailer/PTO work?
55 sounds plenty enough!

Frozen pto cable at the moment is being worked. The 2 spd rear end makes the 4 speed trans like a 5 speed. 41k on it, ran and drove like it was new the whole 370 mile trip.

That's quite a long drive. Nice that it drove like new. Not common. The one I bought doesn't run yet.
Needs glass all the way around and some tlc in the engine bay.

The wheel base on your blue truck is the one to have. Any plans for it once its running? The red winch / gin pole truck would be very tempting too.
