The guy I bought my 68 from was going to make one, he had 5 trucks to work with. Guess how far he got. 
Coincidently, this picture popped up on a FB group this morning.

In another coincidence, I bought a Deora model kit this past Friday on eBay. That was something I wanted to build when I was a kid when the Deora was new, but just never did.

i loved building my Deora 60 years ago ... got into a little trouble by getting that yellowish paint on my new Levi's.
mom flipped her lid, dad high-fived me cuz the model came out great, then he succumbed to mom's ire over the ruined pants .

That's funny.... I built model cars in my youth and recently took up the hobby again. Just the other day, I spilled red paint on my sweat pants or as I like to call them, my retirement uniform.i loved building my Deora 60 years ago ... got into a little trouble by getting that yellowish paint on my new Levi's.

the folks gave me "old" clothes to model build in. deora was such a "groovy" model i went at it unsupervised in my school duds before dad got home from work. i clearly over-estimated my youthful skills. i had long before mastered (with supervision) plastic cement but clearly not paint.
that was mom's beef. she encouraged my model building, but there were "rules" (e.g. places to build, what to wear, etc.,). the folks agreed my "punishment" would be for me to be "grounded" (no tv, bed early, etc) one weekend, AND wash dinner dishes (she would dry them) by myself the weekend i was grounded.
i had the distinct feeling from dad (like a wink and a nod) that that would be the "price of peace" in the house ... for both of us. rub some dirt on it and move on.
deora was lost over the years, a lot of others (from my Monogram era) i still have, and about a dozen awaiting my imminent retirement to build .
